Lil Smith {First Birthday}

So...Here's the thing: Every time I photograph the Smith Family, I am taken aback by how "easy" it is and how well the shoots go.

No...seriously, let's take a walk down (photo) memory lane...

Their Wedding Day: Perfection. I think we took more photos that day than all our weddings combined.

Maternity Shoot: "Oh, what's that? You want to throw and adorable and incredibly well behaved dog into the mix? OK! Still perfection."

Newborn Shoot: "Surely this lil' Smith, who just happens to be named Lil Smith, is going to be a handful. Wait...she's not crying AND doesn't mind being put in a crocheted dog outfit? Game on!"

First Birthday Shoot: "We are on the beach. There are lots of people around. We are trying to get two parents, a dog, and a sugar-high baby to cooperate. Oh....look at that, I have some photographs that could work as Coppertone ads."

In short: This family never ceases to amaze me and I am beyond honored that they have chosen me to capture their continued awesomness with my photos.

Evan {First Birthday}

I have said it before, and I will say it again: One of the best things about this business is my ability to reconnect with old friends; and when that old friend happens to be one of the best friends you could ever remember  having, well....then it's, just an even bigger perk.

Evan's shoot was filled with bribery puffs, destroyed paper flowers, (probable) zika carrying mosquitoes, and ended with a delicious - albeit hot for July - imaginary soup party. Needless to say: It was pure entertainment, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

A huge thank you to the Fox family for such an enjoyable morning!

Sardo Family

With the arrival of baby Henry and the special occasion of his big sister Sofia turning three, I got to do double duty at the Sardo home.

I am always honored when being asked to photograph another occasion for this family, and I am elated that there will now be double the amount of memories to capture.

Here is what you need to know about being a photographer: You are ALWAYS a photographer (Even if you have recently become an Aunt).

Everyone please welcome my newest Niece, Evelynn and cheer on her big brother, Gavin, for a job well done.

Best part about shoots like this? I get to snuggle the clients afterwards.

With the popularity of Pinterest and adoration of Etsy, staged Newborn photos are all the rage. However, I have to admit, there is something incredibly beautiful about the simplicity of a lifestyle session.

Granted, Paige and her parents are pretty much perfect - so that may have had something to do with it as well.

A huge thank you to the Augenstein clan for a wonderful afternoon.

Aidan {7th Birthday}

I have had the pleasure of photographing Aidan since he was 2 years old. And trust me when I say it's been a pleasure, I mean it. This little blue eyed, blonde haired fella stole my heart from the moment I met him, and my adoration for him continues to grow wither each passing year. I am beyond honored to not only be able to watch him grow through my lens, but for the relationship that has developed with the entire family.

Here's to many more years of adorable photos ... (and fingers crossed that he continues to wear personalized shirts until he is 21)

Landon Robert [Newborn]

I absolutely love how this business allows me to shoot through life's timeline with my clients. For instance, just last weekend I got to spend the morning with the (growing) Cowley family. Just a few months ago we were shooting in frigid weather, discussing secret baby names and we wound up here, photographing the world's smallest (but cutest) fireman,  Landon Robert.

A huge thank you to Lauren and Mike, again, for trusting me to capture these important moments.

Having your own photography business can guarantee you two things:
1.)    You more often than not will work 7 days a week
2.)    *You will often question whether your friends and family REALLY like you or if they simply keep you around to photograph their milestone moments.

Lucky for me I love my job AND can deal with being *used if it means getting to snuggle an adorable child while hanging out with one of my closest friends; as was the case this weekend when the Colton clan made the trek from DC to good ole’ NJ.

Everyone meet John Turner Colton: Opponent of sleep, lover of swaddles, and future soccer superstar.

I think one of the best things about being a photographer, is when first time clients book your for additional sessions. I mean...there really is no better compliment than having someone trust you with some of the most important moments of their lives.

So with that being said, I want to extend a HUGE thank you to the Bender family. It was my pleasure to hang out (again) with Michaela and Gabe. Happiest of birthdays to the both of them!
